Dr. Robert B. Wells
Dr. Robert B. Wells, a 1974 graduate of Tremper High School and former student of Stanley Nosal, took over the Tremper Golden Strings after Mr. Nosal's retirement. Dr. Wells was the director of the Golden Strings from 1997-2007. He retired in 2014 as the Director of Fine Arts for the Kenosha Unified School District.
Helen Breitenbach Cooper
Helen Breitenbach Cooper, a 1999 graduate of Tremper High School. was a member of the Golden Strings in high school under the direction of Dr. Robert Wells. In May 2003, she received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While in Madison, she studied viola with Ms. Sally Chisholm. Ms. Breitenbach Cooper completed her Masters of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in July 2008. She studied in Chicago under Dr. Michael Hall. Upon returning to her hometown of Kenosha, Ms. Breitenbach Cooper served as the Orchestra Director at Lance Middle School for four years. She has been the orchestra director at Tremper for 9 years and the director of the Tremper Golden Strings from 2007-2016.
