The Golden Strings is an ensemble comprised of students from Tremper High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The group is directed by Dr. Robert Wells.

Strolling individually and in clusters, these high school musicians radiate good will, professionalism, and pride wherever they perform. The confidence and poise exhibited by members of the Strings serve to enhance and enrich the high school orchestra program. Golden Strings members are ambassadors whose
message -- music -- transcends any language barrier.

Each year, new experiences and dimensions are added to the ensemble based on the needs and development of the particular group at hand.  Customized musical arrangements were written by the very talented James "Red" McLeod. The use of percussion and rhythm instruments, guitar, accordion, electric bass, new costumes, new music, strolling cellos and a myriad of other "firsts" all had their influence upon the group's present form.

A small contingent of Golden Strings members played holiday selections on the Nov. 27 early morning news in NBC 5 studios. Local anchors invited the group after witnessing its stellar performance at the kick-off for the 2006 Olympics held in Chicago's National Italian Hall of Fame. A few weeks later, Winter Break brought the Golden Strings to Florida, where the 36 student musicians entertained audiences at Sea World, Universal Studios, and lavish Isleworth Country Club.
